The Challenge
Camelot Carpentry needed an identity that reflected the quality of its craftsmanship while standing out in a highly competitive trade industry. Many carpentry businesses rely on generic visual language (woodgrain textures, script typography, or stock tool icons) which often fails to communicate professionalism or leave a lasting impression.
The objective was to create a bold, memorable identity that positioned Camelot Carpentry as a trusted, modern contractor without losing the heritage and craftsmanship at the heart of the business.
Approach
Our approach was to build the identity around a symbol rather than a literal illustration of carpentry.
Taking inspiration from the name Camelot, we explored the iconic silhouette of a castle while introducing a tool synonymous with the trade. The result balances strength with simplicity, creating a mark that feels distinctive, purposeful, and instantly recognisable.
Combined with a bold monochrome palette accented by high-visibility yellow, the identity reflects confidence, precision, and reliability, qualities that define both the brand and the work it delivers.

Concept Development
The final logo merges two familiar forms into a single, memorable mark.
A castle turret forms the letter C, representing the Camelot name, while the negative space cleverly reveals the profile of a carpenter's hammer. This dual meaning creates a logo that communicates the business at a glance while rewarding a closer look.
The bold geometric construction reinforces durability and precision, while the minimal execution ensures the identity remains highly legible across everything from digital applications to large-format vehicle graphics.
