PQA Venues wanted to expand on their already existing performing arts school (Pauline Quirke Academy of performing arts) and introduce performing arts spaces around the country that could be used for an array of activities from rehearsing to performing a show.
Their first venue in Edinburgh was host to over 50 shows during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe season. The challenge was to create a recognisable brand that could stand up to the bigger venues already cemented into the foundations of the Edinburgh Fringe. This entailed creating mass marketing materials, including show posters and flyers for every show and decking out their A-listed building with a clash of old and modern interior design.
This lead to the venue winning the best venue of 2018 as quoted by Theatre Weekly’s best of the fest.
